About Ginny

Ginny Craven
Writer, Editor, Marketing Consultant

Ginny Craven is a 30-year marketing communications veteran.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio & Television Broadcasting from California State University and began her career in Los Angeles with special event production and management – an area of expertise that took her to South Florida, where she lived and worked for more than 30 years.

In Miami, she managed large-scale consumer events for Arvida/Disney, Metrozoo, and Gusman Theater of the Performing Arts among others, and held executive-level positions with two prominent public relations firms.

In 1991, Ginny founded PPR Communications, a full-service public relations agency specializing in travel, tourism and hospitality clients.  The firm enjoyed an impeccable reputation for its superior work product, earning consummate respect and recognition from industry professionals, clients and the media alike.  In 2006, Ginny sold her interest in PPR Communications to her business partner, who subsequently closed the agency.

Ginny Craven continues to serve as a writer, editor and marketing consultant.  She is skilled in virtually every stylistic discipline.  From compelling advertising copy to web sites, press materials, brochures, letters and resumes – even contemporary fiction – Ginny is extraordinarily gifted at turning a phrase that fulfills its specific and targeted purpose.
In 2011, Ginny created Hire Good, Inc., a non-profit organization that offered high school students in Miami-Dade County, Florida connections in community service. Student managed and implemented, Hire Good was founded in response to the Florida state requirement that public high school students receive 75 hours of volunteer time in order to graduate. The web-based service, which featured a sophisticated, searchable database, provided resources that allowed students to find volunteer opportunities that best matched their interests and talents. Hire Good was honored with a resolution from the Miami-Dade County School Board in February 2012. The organization was dissolved in 2014 as Ms. Craven planned to relocate.
While in Miami, Ginny volunteered for Hospice and sat on the Board of the South Florida Chapter of ADEC, Association for Death Education & Counseling.  She was also a supportive member of her spiritual community at Unity on the Bay, serving on the church’s council that guides several hundred volunteers, assisting with event programming and management and sitting on the Marketing Task Force for the 1100+ member congregation. In June 2013, she was consecrated as a Prayer Chaplain. Ginny received training as a Consulting Hypnotist with the National Guild of Hypnotists.

In 2015, Ginny moved from Miami to Charlottesville, VA, returning to her childhood home where she intends to be an involved and contributing community member.
